The Amar Jyoti Institute of Physiotherapy (affiliated to University of Delhi) opened its doors to the first batch of students in the year 1999, with an aim to serve health-care needs of the community through education and training of Physiotherapy practitioners. The mission of the Institute is to:
"Provide leadership, management and resources for the advancement of education, scholarship, public service, and the practice of physiotherapy" The B.Sc. (H) Physiotherapy degree course at Amar Jyoti is especially designed to produce graduates who will be:
- Competent and confident physiotherapy practitioners who will be able to provide evidence-based physiotherapy to their patients and community at large.
- Effective communicators who will share pertinent information with the patients and other health care providers.
- Strong representatives of their profession who will ascribe to the ethos and professional standards of the conduct of physiotherapists.
- Able to adapt and implement future changes and professional trends in physiotherapy research and practice.
Course Description and Curriculum
The course is of four and half year duration including six months of Internship. After the completion of this course the University of Delhi awards a degree of Bachelor of Science (Honors) Physiotherapy. The primary focus of the course is to provide an integrated curriculum that combines didactic and clinical study to prepare students for the practice of physiotherapy. The fee for the course may be revised as and when applicable.
In its endeavor to achieve this objective and to provide quality education, the institute has a highly qualified and experienced full time academic and clinical faculty.
Student Activities
The Institute also promotes extra curricular activities and the list of events in our academic year speaks for itself. Early in the academic year the institute celebrates its Annual Convocation Day in which prizes and certificates of annual events such as sports, cultural and quiz are distributed. Other events such as Zenith -The fresher?s party which is a high energy fun filled day for students , a Team building trip which includes adventure sports and team building activities, Ripples- The Sports and Cultural week and Brain teaser ?The Physiotherapy Quiz, create an year round excitement and a feeling of togetherness amongst students. The Institute is proud to have such eclectic activities every year which we believe are important for overall development of students

The Prospectus (including application form) is available from the administrative office of the Amar Jyoti Institute of Physiotherapy against payment of Rs 650/- for General category/ NRI Category and Rs 550/- for SC/ST/OH candidates via cash or through an account payee demand draft (payable in Delhi) in favour of Amar Jyoti Charitable Trust.
