Students who cannot cope with CBSE  syllabus    have the option to continue their studies under NIOS.  Amar Jyoti is accredited for IIIrd, Vth, VIIIth, Xth and XIIth standards by NIOS.  This has been granted keeping in view that some children are unable to  commute daily to school.   
We conduct some vocational courses also accredited by NIOS. Number of students attending these courses is given below:-

Indira Gandhi National Open University 

In 1999 Amar Jyoti was accredited as special study centre of IGNOU (0734 D) for extending the facility of open education to the physically challenged, the housewives and the people who are already employed with a view to provide an opportunity of improving their educational and vocational qualifications qualifications. With this aim in mind the counselling sessions are organized only on Saturday and Sunday.

The study center 0734 at Amar Jyoti is now in its 8th  year of academic counseling. It has been noticed that the programmes in PGJMC  & BLIS are  popular amongst men who are already employed.  BPP introduced this year is a another popular Programe that gives an opportunity to the students who have not been able to complete the formal schooling.  This course gives them a chance for direct admission to B.A/ B.Com programmes of IGNOU.

A new Programme Certificate in Food and Safety (CFS) was introduced in January 2007.   This Programme covers area of food safety and quality.  It will address the needs of developing work force in this sector.  The Programme will focus on awareness in the area of food safety especially for government functionaries and industry workers.  It is hoped that in future more students will enroll of this course.

The study center has a large no. of  eminent counselors to help the students.  The attitude of the students towards learning and writing assignments & projects shows their desire to take these job oriented course very seriously.
