Community Based Rehabilitation Project
Amar Jyoti is running a community based rehabilitation project in ten urban slums in East Delhi sponsored by Narottam Sekhsaria Foundation, Mumbai. The programme aims at development of communities through provision of education, vocational training, medical care and employment.
Employment Opportunities
A three month job oriented Spoken English Certificate course is being run under the Times of India - Teach India Programme. The placement unit at the centre registers and keeps a database of applications of persons with disabilities and guides them in getting employment.
Hon’able Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam, Former President of India visited Amar Jyoti School & Rehabilitation Centre on 1st March, 2013. He evinced keen interest in the activities of Amar Jyoti and interacted with school children.
He addressed on ‘Education Empowers’.
On this occasion he announced donation of 50 books for the Resource Room. He also promised to bear expenses for provision of special lenses for visually impaired children.
